At the end of 2019, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) began to strike Wuhan, China fiercely and infected people from 1 year old to 80 years old, mainly the elderly.
Measures such as mass isolation, shutting down transportation and mobilizing the public to abide by hygienic practices have been vigorously advocated and implemented by the government and society to forestall the spread of the virus.
Around 25,000 doctors and nurses have been dispatched across China to Wuhan to support the local hospitals while sacrificing their time with families during the Chinese New Year.
Until now, the virus has spread around the world, with China confirming 70,000 cases, Japan and South Korea being the second and third having most cases outside of China.
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) was a new coronavirus similar to SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV) that happened in 2003, which has infected around 8,098 people.
